Free Ship Card:
Karnataka State Government has decided to provide a special facility called Freeship Card to benefit the students of the state. It can also be called as scholarship ATM card in simple language and a student can get many benefits through this card. To provide financial assistance to all Scheduled Caste students in undergraduate and graduate and engineering colleges, the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme has been launched by the Department of Social Welfare. Card is offered. Through this, students can easily get all the facilities provided by the state government to the educational institutions.
Information about Freeship Card:
Students from all Scheduled Caste families whose annual family income is below 2.5 lakhs can get admission to post-matric courses free of cost through freeship card. Fees will be reimbursed by the department to the students at the rates fixed for the respective courses. A rule has also been made that the educational institutions shall not compel the initial payment of compulsory fees other than those which are reimbursed by any educational institution holding a Sri Ship Card from a Scheduled Caste student.
Documents required to get freeship card:
The state government has implemented a shift card scheme for students and in order to avail the benefits of this scheme, students need to have certain documents such as student's Aadhaar number, mobile number, RD number of student's income and caste certificate, student's SSLC registration number and student's university or board registration number.
How to Apply:
In order to get the physical card one has to visit the official website of Social Welfare Department of Government of Karnataka named Post Scholarship Program where the application can be submitted. https://ssp.postmatric. karnataka.gov.in can be submitted.
